These words were displayed on the LED screen of The 2018 Zhongshsn Investment Environment Promotion Conference.

The event, with the theme “Vibrant Greater Bay Area, Charming Zhongshan”, was held on September 14. About 300 people, representing The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, German Chamber of Commerce, IDA Ireland, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Global 500 including CBRE Group, Microsoft (China), Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and etc, and local companies such as Changhong, MLS and Akesobio, attended the conference.

Under the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Zhongshan is now showing its charm and attracting the eyes of the world.

To build headquarters economy

The high-profile Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone started construction on August 3.

Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone is one of the significant actions of “strong heart” strategy of the city, said Huang Guiguang, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Shiqi District, during the Zhongshsn Investment Environment Promotion Conference.

Zhongshan Headquarter Economic Zone covers an area of over 3sqkm. The Shiqi area is of abundant natural resources, solid urban and cultural characteristics and convenient traffic condition.

The planned area of Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone is 1.1sqkm, with total building area of 4 million sqm. There planned to be 12 super high-rise buildings within the area.

Reportedly, Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone will be developed into an open, innovative, liveable and dynamic central business district. It will become “the headquarters economic highland”, “the internet+ innovative headquarters economy”, “the fashionable residential community” and “the shared and open waterfront blended space” of the city’s.

Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone is positioned as technology financing platform, health industry international cooperation base and digital economic innovation demonstration base for attracting innovative technology enterprises and superior financial companies. It will focus on introduction of health enterprises for international cooperation, and development of new pattern industries including big data, VR/AR, intelligent artificial, smart city, modern information services, and etc.

Obvious industrial and regional advantages

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is the world’s largest accounting firm and professional service provider. Tax and Commerce Consulting Director of PwC Consulting (Shenzhen) Co Ltd Guangzhou Branch Office Li Shiyun gave a speech about “Zhongshan’s development and thinking” during the conference.

Li Zhiyun pointed out that Zhongshan has regional advantages as it is located at the center of the Greater Bay Area. In terms of industrial distribution, Zhongshan has national leading industries such as lighting, photoelectricity, hardware and home appliance electronics, in addition to some rapidly developing emerging industries such as equipment manufacturing, new generation of information technology and health industry.

Li Zhiyun suggested that Zhongshan can develop high-end medical service industry with its abundant medical and pharmaceutical resources as well as beautiful environment, or, alternatively, develop a high-end medical service area by taking advantage of superior hospitals or medical organizations.
