“The 32,000 yuan cash the applicant spent on installing elevator to old building has been successfully withdrawn from provident fund account to his personal.” Chen Jiaying, business supervision director of Zhongshan Provident Fund Management Center, said on October 8 that it was the first case of “installing elevator to old building with provident fund” in the city. He believed provident fund would become an important capital source of running “Adding Elevator to Old Building” program in the future.

Reportedly, Zhongshan has already introduced provident fund withdrawal for elevator installation in existing residential building since July of 2014, but no one had applied for the service for a long time. Chen Jiaying estimated the first “elevator installation” peak will soon appear by the end of this year. At present, Zhongshan Provident Fund Management Center has opened a number of windows for the service.
