The amended “Zhongshan Medical Aid Program for Serious Illness Patients 2018” has been put into use recently, according to Zhongshan Charity Federation and Zhongshan Illness-related Poverty Support Center.

The amended program adds new clauses including “small medical expenses assistance” and “targeted quasi-expenditure poverty patient”. The “small medical expenses assistance”, for example, will release financial burden for over 600 low-income families.

Reportedly, since the trial operation on April 18 this year, Zhongshan Illness-related Poverty Support Center has provided medical assistance to 882 difficult citizens, with 5.09mn yuan salvage money issued, by October 29.
