The “Zhongshan City Group Development Planning (2017-2035)” released by Zhongshan Bureau of Urban and Rural Planning has been through publicity last week.

The planning will be carried out in two stages. By 2035, Zhongshan is expcted to have a resident population of 5.5 to 6 million. The city’s construction land will reach 730 to 750 sqm, accounting for over 42% of the total acreage.

According to the planning, Minzhong Station will be reserved for Zhongshan-Nansha-Hu’men Intercity Rail to strengthen connection with Guangzhou, Nansha and Shenzhen. Zhongshan will be connected to Guangzhou metro Line 18 through Sanjiao and Minzhong Town. The city will also complete roads and expressways to reinforce traffic network with Foshan, Nansha and Zhuhai.
