Guangdong Department of Environmental Protection announced the urban air quality report for the first ten months of the year on November 12. Zhongshan ranked 12th in the province and 4th in the Pearl River Delta.

Statistics show that from January to October this year, the province’s air quality index compliance rate reached 87.7%, down by 2.2 percentage points from the same period in 2017.

The top three cities with good air quality were Shanwei, Zhanjiang and Maoming, while the bottom three were Guangzhou, Qingyuan and Foshan.

According to the data provided by Zhongshan Environmental Monitoring Station, from January to October this year, 256 of the 304 monitored days were of qualified air quality. The control rate was 84.2%, up by 4.9 percentage points over the same period last year.
