Laru Village Cultural Activity Building in Niangpu Town, which is Zhongshan’s
first aiding Tibet project in Gongbo’gyamda County of Nyingchi City financed by
social donation, was put into use on December 5.
The 2-storey building costs 2.01 million yuan and covers an area of 2,000sqm.
With a building area of 623sqm, it has six functional rooms including culture
room, medical room, party member activity room, conference room, cadres’ studio
and committee leaders office.
Reportedly, Laru Village is located at government area of Niangpu Town. It is about 100km from county urban area and at an altitude of more than 4,000m. There are 119 families (509 persons in total) in the village, 58 of which are poverty-stricken households. The residents mainly live by raising yak and Tibetan pig, and growing highland barley and wheat on poor soil.
