The Development of Civilized School and School-based Youth Palace Promotion Conference was held in Sanxiang on the morning of December 19. The meeting reported the construction progress of civilized schools and youth palaces in schools and commended 10 outstanding school-based youth palaces.

Before the meeting, attendees visited Guanghou Primary School for on-the-spot investigation. Reportedly, the school started to offer talent courses since 2002 and was selected one of the first schools with "rural school-based youth palace" funded by the state lottery charitable foundation in 2011.

By the end of November this year, Zhongshan has 21 rural school-based youth palaces funded by the state lottery charitable foundation and 84 municipal rural school-based youth palaces, which benefit over 200,000 primary and secondary students.

Besides, over 60% of the total 199 primary and secondary schools in Zhongshan have created municipal "civilized school". Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School and Langqing Primary School have been selected "national civilized schools".
