The 6th China Livelihood Development Forum released the "2018 Chinese livelihood development report" and "Top 100 Chinese cities on 2018 livelihood development". Zhongshan ranked the 5th in the list. 

This activity measured the development of people's livelihood of 262 prefecture-level cities in 27 provinces to show the progress of prefecture-level cities on people's livelihood security and development. The list is based on the 2017 statistics of the cities.
