A twenty-man delegation from the literary circle, led by Wan Sucheng, Publicity and Culture Director from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao S.A.R, visited Zhongshan from Jan 5 to 6. The delegation was tasked with exploring the cultural origins between Macao and Zhongshan. In addition, it looked into the latest social and economic developments of Zhongshan. The delegation joined a symposium with other literary intellectuals in Zhongshan where they hoped to find a new literary exchange mode between the two cities.

At the symposium, both sides talked about jointly publishing a book which will include 40 articles about Zhongshan and Macao. These articles will be written by authors from both cities and created as a gift to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.

During the two day visit, the Macao delegation also paid a visit to the Wuguishan section of the Shiqi-Macao Ancient Road, former command of Zhujiang Column, Xiangshan Commercial Culture Museum, Sunwen Road West pedestrian street, Xishan Temple, Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City, and Zheng Guanying's former residence.
