Interim assessment report for the implementation of Zhongshan's '13th Five-Year' Plan released

The interim assessment report for the implementation of Zhongshan's "13th Five-Year" Plan, as well as additional indicators and the adjustment of the major projects draft, which were directed by the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau, were released on December 28, 2018. These items had been deliberated and approved by the Standing Committee of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress.

According the report, in the first half of the "13th Five-Year", which covers the years 2016-2020, 17 out of 49 indicators beat their end-of-term targets. These included "the number of high-tech firms", "the urban-rural income proportion", and "the forest coverage rate".

Zhongshan has continued to promote innovation-driven development since the beginning of the "13th Five-Year". In 2017, the added value of the advanced manufacturing industry accounted for 47.6% of the total manufacturing added value. At the same time, the added value of the service industry accounted for 47.8% of the GDP. Additionally, the number of high-tech firms doubled in just two years' time, that is, up to 1,715 as of 2017.

The average per capita disposable income for the city was 43,554 yuan per year. The annual average growth of represented was 10.44%. This represents higher growth than the GDP growth.

For the "13th Five-year", Zhongshan proposed 152 major construction projects. As of the end of June, last year, 12 of these projects were completed and had been put into operation. Another 102 are currently under construction. The total completed investment reached 100.989 billion yuan. This figure accounts for 42.44% of the total investment planning for the "13th Five-Year".
