The Shiqi Home-based Senior Services Center, which was recently relocated and upgraded, was opened in the Guiyuan Community on the morning of January 14.
The new center covers an area of more than 1,500 square meters. It has 14 functional venues, such as a multi-functional training room, a music room, and a dance room. It also boasts 4 additional featured programs including medical rehabilitation and health care service, elderly dining hall, daytime care, and table games.
Shiqi District included the relocation and upgrade project of the Home-based Senior Service Center in last year's "Top 10 Livelihood Projects". Furthermore, Shiqi District has invested 3.35 million yuan on the center's construction.
There are currently 34,000 elderly people, aged 60 and above, in Shiqi District. This figure accounts for 13.1% of the total number of elderly in Zhongshan.
