A group of special guests arrived at the construction sites of the Shiqi River Bridge and Henglan Expressway on January 18. The delegation led by Liu Zheng, a deputy of the Municipal People's Congress from the press circle, visited the both sites. His aim was to get an update on the progress of the city's "Promotion of Smooth Traffic." This has been one of the "2018 Zhongshan Top 10 Livelihood Projects."

The delegation then successively paid a visit to Guichong Road, Henglan Expressway, and Jingguan Road. Liu's update indicates that the Shiqi River Bridge has been completed, and Jingguan Road has been open to traffic since April 30, 2018.

Street lamp installation was seen to be underway at the Henglan Expressway construction site. The construction unit staff representative indicated that the expressway is expected to open to traffic in time for this year's Spring Festival.

The Henglan Expressway is part of the city's east-west "Transverse Traffic Line 4." "Transverse Traffic Line 4", with a total length of 11 kilometers, will connect Gushen Highway and the South Outer Ring after its completion. This line will benefit citizens living in Guzhen, Henglan, Shaxi, and Dachong Town by lowering travel times, reducing detours, and relieving traffic pressure.
