The results of the Township Civilization Level Evaluation initiated last month by the Zhongshan Civilization Office were recently released. In the central area, Shiqi District, East District, and Wuguishan District took the first three places. Meanwhile, in the township area, Xiaolan, Henglan, and Sanxiang Town were the top three. Dongsheng, Banfu, and Guzhen Town, however, were at the bottom of the overall ranking.

The report shows that, starting in 2018, Zhongshan has comprehensively encouraged a "grid community." In this effort, Zhongshan has designated over 260 areas and more than 1,270 management grids. In addition, two Zhongshan families were presented with the "China Beautiful Family," and three citizens were presented with the "Guangdong Good People" awards. The city also selected 20 "Moral Models and Nominees," and 61 "Zhongshan Good People." 

Since the beginning of 2018, Zhongshan has promoted cityscape surveillance and cleaning campaigns in its towns and districts. So far, over 90% of the 80 discovered cityscape "blackspots" have been removed.

Zhongshan has also conducted extensive volunteer service activities. Statistics show that, there are approximately 494,000 volunteers in Zhongshan. These generous volunteers provided over 3.9 million hours of voluntary services last year and offered their talents on approximately 169,000 community activities.
