"Bye, guys, we will miss you!"
Wednesday morning, 220 Zhaotong students hugged and said goodbye to their schoolmates at the Zhongshan NO. 1 Secondary Vocational and Technical School before they got on the "Love Coaches." They were returning Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, which is 1,600 kilometers away from Zhongshan. They were heading home to celebrate with their families during the coming Spring Festival.
The "Love Coaches" serve under the theme "Universal Love of Zhongshan for Zhaotong." They were sponsored by China Unicom's Zhongshan branch and the local media. Each student received a "Love Gift Bag" containing bottled water, bread, vacuum cup, and scarf from the organizers.
To ensure they returned home safely, the organizers and the school additionally assigned teachers and staff to chaperone each coach. In addition, they drew up emergency plans in advance for traffic accidents, food hygiene, personal accidental injuries, diseases, and more.
Early in 2017, the education departments of Zhongshan and Zhaotong City signed an educational assistance and cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, Zhongshan selected 8 high-quality, public, secondary vocational schools, including Zhongshan NO. 1 Secondary Vocational and Technical School. Zhongshan has also acquired some talented majors to recruit and cultivate 750 new students from Zhaotong every year.
