In 2018, the city completed a fixed-asset investment of 111.64 billion yuan, which was reported by the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau. The annual completed infrastructural project investment increased by 19.0% from last year. This was an increase to a total of 19.46 billion yuan, and it accounted for 17.4% of the total fixed-asset investment.

Last year, Zhongshan focused its attention on addressing projects to help the disadvantaged. The city completed an investment of 25.375 billion yuan for 138 supply-side disadvantaged projects. Nine of them were listed as provincial projects with a completed investment of 3.25 billion yuan. It accounted for 140.8% of the annual investment planning.

Zhongshan also started 209 "fifty million yuan-level projects," with a total investment of 117.84 billion yuan. The investment of infrastructural projects amounted to 31.72 billion yuan, up 14.8% from last year's figure.
