Police officers from the Service Squadron of the Zhongshan Public Security Frontier Detachment accompanied some of the seniors from Huayule Nursing Home to enjoy a morning visit of the Chinese New Year Flower Fair in Shagang Market on Wednesday. It marked the 17th consecutive year that the frontier police have carried out this activity.

"I am really excited, and have fun here," said the 80-year-old, Ms Chen. It was the first time for her to stroll through the colorful exhibits of the flower fair accompanied by friendly police officers.

Furthermore, some policemen purchased potted orange trees, apples, and other new year's goodies for the elderly. "We regularly organize visiting activities such as birthday parties and small talk gatherings at the nursing home for seniors," said Zhong Xinglin, one of the participating frontier policemen.

It was reported that the Service Squadron of the Zhongshan Public Security Frontier Detachment has maintained a police-people cooperative relationship with the Huayule Nursing Home since 2002.
