"Improving public transportation facilities" is one of the "2018 Zhongshan Top 10 Livelihood Projects." Recently, a citizen delegation, led by Cheng Mingsheng, Deputy of the Municipal People's Congress from the press circle, arrived at the transportation hub of Zhongshan People's Hospital to experience the newly-opened "K19 Express" bus line.

In 2018, Zhongshan opened 4 new express and 7 new regular bus routes, while it optimized 19 existing lines. Additionally, more than 2,200 city buses provide free Wi-Fi service.

Last year at the same time, the "E-Zhongshan Pass" electronic virtual bus card and QR code payment system were both launched. Passengers are now able to pay for public transport with these mobile payment tools while enjoying a 50% discount. The latest data shows that up to 910,000 citizens have obtained "E-Zhongshan Passes." These systems have been generating approximately 130,000 yuan of trading volume per day.

In the near future, WeChat Pay, in addition to Alipay Pay, will be available on Zhongshan city buses.
