On the morning of January 22, Cheng Mingsheng and Liu Zheng, two representatives of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress from the press circle, led nearly 40 citizens from the Torch District on a visit to various city parks. Their objective was to learn more about the initiation of the "Opening a Batch of New Parks" event. This event is one of the 2018 Zhongshan Top 10 Livelihood Projects.

In the Changdi Wetland Park, located in Minzhong Town, the citizens' representatives found themselves to be enticed by the beautiful scenery arrayed before them. The park is located between the Panyu- Zhongshan Highway and Minzhong Market Bridge in Minzhong Town. Magnificent Metasequoias stand at attention along the nearly 1.8 kilometer shore. "It's so beautiful here. There is no longer any need to see the scenery in any other natural ecological protection area. The scenery is everywhere," said Chen Gangping, one of the representatives.

At present, the Jinliwan Ecological Wetland Park of Sanjiao Town, the Changdi Wetland Park of Minzhong Town, the Binhe Ecological Park of Shaxi Town and five street parks including Qi'anyuan side of the South District, the Sanxi Village of the East District, the Shunxing Road of Shagang in the East District, the Zhenshanfang of Shiqi District, and the Yuelai Street of Shiqi District have been opened to the public.

The Northeast Group Children's Park in Sanjiao Town was opened on January 30. The park covers an area of about 26 mu with a total investment of 7.6 million yuan. There is a children's climbing area, labyrinth area, cultural gallery, tree houses, and other areas and facilities. The thought is that this safe, friendly, and healthy place will become the new attraction for children in Sanjiao Town and the surrounding area.

In addition, four other children's parks, including the East Group Park, the Central Group Park, the South Group Park, and the Northwest Group Park, are under accelerated construction.
