Zhongshan recently rolled out "The Opinion on Promoting Modernization of Vocational Education."
The Opinion has proposed that Zhongshan develop a modernized vocational education and training system by the year 2025. Furthermore, The Opinion has recommended that the number of secondary and higher vocational school students should rise approximately 50% from the 2018 figure.
Another proposal is for Zhongshan Technician College to be incorporated into institutions of higher education. Additional recommendations are for the city to build another one or two modernized, private, government-supported higher vocational institutes, and, by 2025, have the number of higher vocational students reach 40,000.
According to The Opinion, Zhongshan should strengthen the development of vocational education public service agencies, such as the Sino-Germany Cooperated (Zhongshan) Vocational Talent Training Base. These agencies are to be built into enterprise-oriented operating training bases for technical and skilled talents.
Zhongshan will explore the construction of the Greater Bay Area vocational education park that would be compatible with the city's leading industries. Meanwhile, Zhongshan will take active part in the co-building and sharing of educational resources, mutual recognition of faculty qualification and course credit, and integration of employment and entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area.
Lastly, The Opinion also encourages investment in professional education development from township governments and social forces.
