This year, Zhongshan proposes the addition of another 196 charging stations for electric powered cars at public venues such as schools, parks, hotels, office buildings, residential communities, commercial complexes, and others. The new stations are an addition to the 166 charging stations that were built in 2018, according to the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau.

To stimulate the social capital required for the construction of these facilities, investors who build and launch new charging facilities in designated locations are eligible to apply for a subsidy in accordance with all relevant rules and regulations.

As of the end of December, 2018, Zhongshan had already put 7,516 new energy cars into service and built 2,548 charging stations.
