Zhongshan plans 213 key construction projects for 2019, representing a total investment of 413.62 billion yuan, this according to the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau. The annual planned investment amounts to a total of 50.69 billion yuan.
Infrastructure construction, municipal industrial platforms, and people's livelihood projects will be the focus of attention this year.
A total of 40 infrastructure projects have been mapped out this year, with an annual planned investment of 19.93 billion yuan. Specifically, in terms of transportation infrastructure improvement, Zhongshan will begin construction of the East Outer Ring Expressway (first phase) and the Tanzhou Expressway. In addition, the city will accelerate the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway, the Xianghai Bridge, and the Zhongshan West Outer Ring Expressway. Meanwhile, the city will complete the new Ma'an Port Area passenger terminal at the Zhongshan Port of Entry.
In terms of municipal industrial platform construction, Zhongshan will invest 29.68 billion yuan this year. The city will speed up the construction of major industrial platforms, such as the Jonjee Hi-tech Industry Incubation Area, the Minzhong Industry Platform, the Sanjiao Industry Platform, the Tanzhou Industry Platform, the Xiaolan "Smart Valley" Town, and the Sanjiao-based Diyin Lake Town.
In addition, Zhongshan proposes 18 People's Livelihood Projects this year with an annual planned investment of 1.08 billion yuan. The expansion projects of Zhongshan No.2 Middle School and the Zhongshan NO.3 People's Hospital, as well as the construction of the Shiqi District University Science Park, will start within the year. Meanwhile, the new Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library will also be completed and placed into service this year.
