Zhongshan's foreign trade growth rate rose to 9.1% (compared to last year's figure). The total value of Zhongshan's foreign trade was 22.72 billion yuan for January, 2019, according to Zhongshan Customs. The city's export value amounted to 18 billion yuan, up 14.8%.

Exports and imports of products under the general trade category gained 16.5% to reach 11.66 billion yuan. Meanwhile, trade processing increased 1.2% to 10.64 billion yuan.

The total imports and exports of private enterprises reached 7.86 billion yuan, an increase of 17.7%. The figures of foreign-funded enterprises and state-owned enterprises rose 5% and 4.4% respectively, to 13.52 billion yuan and 1.34 billion yuan.

In January, Zhongshan's foreign trade volume to the US, the EU, the ASEAN, and Hong Kong stood at 4.42 billion yuan, 3.98 billion yuan, 2.58 billion yuan and 2.4 billion yuan, respectively. These figures represent annual growth of 8.9%, 21.1%, 3.7%, and 19.7%, respectively.
