The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Health Cooperation Conference was conducted on February 25 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Over 800 attendees, including delegates from the health administrative departments of Guangdong, Hong-Kong, and Macao, met with representatives from Greater Bay Area colleges and universities. They were joined by domestic and foreign experts and scholars, representatives of the health sector, and members of the media.
Attendees from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao signed an important health cooperation agreement during the conference. This agreement initiates the creation of a jointly built, high-quality healthcare system to promote a healthier Greater Bay Area.
Representatives from all three locations also signed contracts on 62 additional health cooperation projects. The scope of these agreements involve medical technology, talent training, scientific and technological innovation, industry cooperation, disease control and prevention, and others.
Highlighting the 12 most representative projects, the Zhongshan Health Bureau and the Health Department of Macao agreed to collaborate on the "General Practitioner Cultivation Program."
This program aims at promoting professional medical talent training, exchanges, and the professional cultivation of general practitioners working within the Greater Bay Area. General practitioners from medical institutions, community-based health service institutional administrative staff members, and Zhongshan family doctor service team members will have the opportunity to receive systematic training in Macao.
