Dongfeng Town of Zhongshan is in the "gold corridor" of China's home appliance industry. Over half of the local companies specialize in home appliance manufacturing or related sectors. However, due to the low requirements to enter the home appliance industry here, Dongfeng needs to improve its development quality.
Luo Qidong, Town Chief of Dongfeng, recently revealed that Dongfeng plans to build an "industrial internet model town," which will aim to develop the industrial internet, construct a full-life cycle public service system, and guide industries to adopt the upgrade consumption trend.
"At present, there are over 6,000 enterprises in Dongfeng, about half of which are related to the home appliance industry," Luo said. "However, these are all medium and smaller sized companies that are eager to improve their development quality."
Therefore, Dongfeng has decided to perfect its public service platform to help the industrial center transformation and upgrade utilizing internet plus technologies. At present, Dongfeng has begun a collaboration with domestic-leading big data expert BONC and electrical appliance maker Enaiter. All three entities will develop an industrial internet platform offering injection molding services for the home appliance industry, while urging companies to adopt the use of cloud services.
The platform will be built in three phases. The first phase will go into trial operation on March 31, 2019.
