The annual Zhongshan Government Work Report has made it clear that the city should strengthen its transportation infrastructure. The city government also includes "Improvement of city traffic capacity" one of the Top 10 Livelihood Projects for 2019.
In an effort to achieve these goals, a group of road reconstruction projects in the central area resumed work soon after the Spring Festival holiday, according to the Zhongshan Housing and Urban-rural Development Bureau. It was reported that the interchange on Bo'ai Road and Cuijing Avenue will be completed and put into service this May. The interchange on Bo'ai Road and Yintong Street is expected to reach completion and be opened in this October. Lastly, the main part of Changjiang Road will be open to traffic by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, a total of 23 roads in the central area will be renovated and return to use within the year.
The Zhongshan Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau will also complete construction of the cross-street facilities and the road widening project in the city's bus terminal this year.
Traffic capacity in the central area is expected to be enhanced after completion of these projects.
