Six listed companies in Zhongshan, including MLS, Homa, C&S, Lifesense, Tongyu Communication, and Senssun, reported their preliminary earnings estimates for 2018 in succession on February 27.
LED expert MLS and household paper maker C&S both witnessed increases in operating income and net profit.
In 2018, MLS's operating income reached 17.748 billion yuan, an increase of 117.28% compared with 2017's figure. The net profit attributable to shareholders was 717 million yuan, up 7.36%. The company's total assets amounted to 31.914 billion yuan. In 2018, MLS completed the major acquisition of Ledvance, which led to considerable company growth in gross revenue and total assets.
C&S also achieved good performance figures in 2018, and its operating income rose 22.43% from the 2017 figure to 5.678 billion yuan. The net profit attributable to shareholders stood at 404 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.87%.
Among the other four companies, refrigerator specialist Homa suffered a large loss.
In 2018, Homa reported an operating income of 7.847 billion yuan, up 12.68% compared with 2017's figure. However, the company's net profit attributable to shareholders slumped to 1.852 billion yuan, a dramatic decline of 585.58% from the previous year.
