The promotional conference, "Learning from Lei Feng Voluntary Activities," was organized by the Zhongshan Spiritual Civilization Steering Committee Office and the Zhongshan Volunteer Service Federation on March 5 in Zhongshan. Star volunteers including Li Huanxian, Liu Tianming and Hong Ruijiu attended the event where they shared their touching stories and experiences. 

Zhongshan's "big data" regarding volunteer service was also released at the meeting. Statistics from the "Voluntary Zhongshan" platform showed that, by the end of 2018, the total number of registered volunteers in Zhongshan had increased to 493,000 from 207,000. In addition the number of volunteer activities had risen to 354,700 from 151,800. These two figures had grown 137% and 133%, respectively, from the previous year. The bottom line is that one in every seven Zhongshan residents is a volunteer.

It's worth mentioning that since the "Zhongshan Volunteer" platform was established, Zhongshan has applied "Internet Plus" thinkings to voluntary services. This program has solved social governance difficulties while greatly improving work efficiency and quality utilizing high-tech means to do so.
