Mi Xuemei, a deputy of the National People's Congress, is currently working in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. After leaving her hometown in Gansu Province, Mi began working in the city over twenty years ago. She has worked here holding numerous jobs including security guard, workshop statistician, factory manager's assistant, quality supervisor, and customer service manager. Presently, she works as a customer director at a garment company in Zhongshan.
As an NPC deputy, Mi has put forward a proposal that examines the education of migrant workers' children. She looks forward to seeing an increasing investment on education. An investment increase will allow more children of migrant workers to receive a fair and qualified education in the urban areas.
