Humen Second Bridge will open to traffic on April 2. It will be the first super project to be put into operation after the announcement of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan.
The bridge connects Dongchong Town of Guangzhou and Shatian Town of Dongguan. It has a total length of 12.89 kilometers and adopts a two-way eight-lane highway standard.
After the completion of the bridge, it will shorten the distance from southern Guangzhou to Dongguan for about 10 kilometers, and the driving time will be shortened for half an hour. The bridge will effectively relieve the traffic pressure between the east and west banks of the Pearl River.
Zhongshan citizens who want to travel during this year’s Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday can drive along the Guangzhou-Macao Highway and get on the bridge at the Dongchong interchange to experience the convenient traffic brought by the super project.
