Chen Wenfeng, Deputy Secretary of the Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee, met with a delegation led by Anja Villefrance, Danish Consul General in Guangzhou, on March 26. Both sides had a thorough discussion regarding Zhongshan's position in relation to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other relevant developmental issues. These talks were conducted in an effort to promote closer trade relations and cooperation between Denmark and Zhongshan.

Denmark has developed a close relationship with Zhongshan in the areas of economic development and trade. Furthermore, Denmark has become an important trading partner with Zhongshan. Two leading pharmaceutical companies in the National Health Technology Park (Zhongshan Base) have been conducting R&D operations in Denmark. Mingyang Wind Power, a leading equipment manufacturer in Zhongshan, has also established its European Wind Energy R&D Center in Denmark.
