An admission ceremony was held at Zhongshan Polytechnic on Tuesday for 12 international students from Laos.
These students will attend courses for one semester (about 4 months), with majors in elevator engineering and technology, garment and fashion design, tourism management, and home art design.
Prior to coming to China, they received three months of Chinese language instruction at the Chinese Language Training Center in Laos.
"The college especially caters to these students' living conditions and courses that are more in accordance with their needs and life-style," said Chen Zhifeng, Director of the Further Education Division of Zhongshan Polytechnic.
In addition to major courses, Zhongshan Polytechnic also arranges useful courses, like "Introduction to China," for Lao students. At the same time, the college will randomly organize Chinese traditional cultural experience activities and attraction tours for them. These activities will aim to deepen their understanding of China's culture and national conditions.
Zhongshan Polytechnic is known for developing exchanges and cooperatives with universities in Thailand and Myanmar as well.
