Zhongshan's tourism revenue generated 230 million yuan during the three-day Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday, up 4.5% from last year's figure, according to the Zhongshan Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau. The city received a total of 430,000 tourists, with 118,000 who stayed overnight, up 7.2% on a year-on-year basis.
Popular activities included flower viewing, the visit of former residences and fruit picking. During the holiday, the Sanjiao Golden Carp Bay Wetland Park that ushered in the galsang flower blossom received a total of 28,000 tourists, while Zimaling Park in the central city attracted 45,000 visitors with blooming red strap flowers.
Educational red tourism regions and tour routes also gained popularity. During the Tomb-sweeping Day holiday, tourists swarmed into the Tourism Area of Sun Yat-sen's Hometown, Yang Yin's former residence, the Memorial Park of the 1911 Revolution, Sunwen Park, Zhongshan Martyr Cemetery, and other red tourism sites.
