"Sun Yat-sen" is the most resourceful and influential brand of Zhongshan. For a long time, the city has been focused on polishing up the "Sun Yat-sen Culture" city brand.

In mid-February, Chinese authorities unveiled the outline development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It proposes to "build the Greater Bay Area into a humanistic bay area", and it specifies to "support Zhongshan to further explore and carry forward Sun Yat-sen culture resources".

Recently, Zhongshan authorities additionally unveiled the enforcement advice for Sun Yat-sen Culture exchange and cooperation. The document makes specifications on the organizational structure, working mechanism, implementation plan, fund guarantee and etc for further exploring and carrying forward Sun Yat-sen culture resources.

According to the document, Zhongshan will develop a Sun Yat-sen Culture exchange and cooperation platform, draw up a culture exchange plan, perfect the exchange network, implement a batch of projects, and attempt to build a cultural and creative industry demonstration zone in Tsuihang New District. 

In an effort to strengthen Sun Yat-sen Culture exchange and cooperation and to guarantee the solid implementation and achievements, the city government also established a leading group that is led by Qiu Shuhong, Chairman of the municipal committee of CPPCC. The leading group will coordinate all social forces to jointly participate in the Sun Yat-sen Culture exchange and cooperation.
