Lei Gangrong, Vice President of the Banfu Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Zhongshan Yinglifeng Real Estate Co Ltd, in the "Banfu Watery Town Museum" located on Yingbin Avenue in Banfu Town, said, "We can make a difference by developing and utilizing the traditional cultural resources of Banfu Town."
Ever since it was founded on March 29, the museum has welcomed several excursion groups of primary and secondary students and tourists.
The "Banfu Watery Town Museum" is divided into three areas based on the town's geographical situation: the River East Area, the River West Area, and the Courtyard. There are 11 exhibition halls in the museum, named after the 11 administrative villages in Banfu. The museum also offers traditional cuisines to visitors.
Two years ago, Lei Gangrong proposed to reconstruct the unoccupied office areas of the company, covering a total area of 1,500 square meters, into a "watery town museum". His plan soon gained the support of the township authorities who urged all administrative villages to collect historical and cultural material.
So far, Lei Gangrong has invested about 1 million yuan in purchasing historical relics and creating history-related prints, murals and other paintings for the museum.
