The Chinese authorities unveiled the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in mid-February. As an important node city in the Greater Bay Area, Zhongshan has been actively implementing the development plan.

Liang Weihua, Director of Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau, said through an interview that the bureau will spare no efforts to advance all works of the Greater Bay Area development, mobilizing citywide efforts and combining with the practical situations of the city.

Presently, Zhongshan has developed the coordination and implementation working mechanism for the Greater Bay Area development, aiming to contribute professional strength to the high quality development and to guarantee the advancement, Liang said.

Liang suggested Zhongshan to deeply participate in the world's modern industrial division, advance resource sharing, advantage complementation and coordinated development with other Greater Bay Area cities, improve competitiveness of mid-to-high end industrial value chains, and build the city into a world-leading advanced manufacturing base and a modern service development highland.
