Reading some books in the capacious and comfortable self-service libraries in township areas, listening to a "Hardcore Youth" lecture in the 72-hour bookstore... Zhongshan citizens' Wechat Moment were full of the activities of the 2019 Zhongshan Reading Month campaign. 

The 17th Zhongshan Reading Month campaign, with the theme of "Enjoy Reading and Cheer for Our Motherland" started on the morning of April 21. A total of 19 self-service libraries in Zhongshan City opened together on the day.

The reading campaign this year focuses on celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China and includes hundreds of theme reading activities such as "Praise To the Motherland · Classics Reading", "Reading for Half an Hour Together" by people from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Nationwide Reading "Seven Advances" Project, "Citizens Choose Books, the Government Pays the Money", Zhongshan Book Fair, etc.

The township governments, units and organizations who won the titles of advanced unit of nationwide reading, innovation project for nationwide reading, and excellent reading promotion organization in "2018 Zhongshan Book Festival", were granted the awards on the activity site. Qiusuo Bookstore in Zhongshan also donated 12,000 books to the self-service libraries in the city.

A series of reading volunteer activities will start. 24 townships and 47 cultural volunteer teams across the city will be organized to carry out over 200 theme activities.
