Recently, the Health Commission of Guangdong Province held its 2019 working conference in Shenzhen for the Health Campaign for Silver-Haired Seniors. Zhongshan's work related indicators are highly ranked within the province. Consequently the city has been honored with three titles, and they are the Charitable Donation Award, Outstanding Performance Award, and Excellent Pilot Award.

It has been reported that the Health Campaign for Silver-Haired Seniors in Zhongshan has witnessed a continuous expansion of coverage. Over 340,600 people are now covered by accident insurance. The 100% coverage rate generated a total of premiums collected of 14.19 million yuan as of the end of 2018.

The number of self-paying insured people reached 130,000, representing a coverage rate of 48%. There were 6,483 persons who received compensation from their insurance through the year with a total amount of compensation that reached 7.47 million yuan. The compensation rate ended at 52.84%.

In 2019, the city will continue to expand the coverage of this campaign, while promoting medical health and endowment insurance.
