The Zhongshan Public Transportation Group and China Construction Bank (CCB) Zhongshan Branch jointly hosted the "One Cent for a Bus Ride" activity on April 27. From the day on, Zhongshan passengers can enjoy a bus ride for only one cent if they use Unionpay's "Quick Pass" or CCB's "Dragon Pay" as their payment method.
The special offer will be provided until the end of October. Each passenger can enjoy the discounted ticket price at most twice a day and no more than 10 times in total.
"In this way, we hope to enable more people to experience the convenience and quickness of mobile payment", said Chen Lize, Vice-president of CCB Zhongshan Branch.
Presently, an increasing number of people use mobile payment to take bus rides. According to ZSPTG's statistics, about 1.29 million citizens have obtained their electronic bus cards through Alipay. Every day, a total of 160,000 passengers pay for the bus rides with their e-bus cards, accounting for nearly 30% of the total passenger flow.
