A simple and grand student-accepting ceremony for the "Cantonese Cuisine Chef" program was held on April 29 at the Zhongshan Technician College. A total of 80 culinary students of the tourism service faculty of ZSTC formally acknowledged 6 renowned chefs, including Ou Jianxin and Huang Di'an who work in well-known catering enterprises in Zhongshan, as their masters.

"Culinary and hotel service majors of the tourism service faculty hold the highest 90% job-suited employment rate in out college," said a principal of ZSTC, adding that the college has started exploring modern apprenticeship for these two majors since 2013.

Taking culinary major for example, the college is conducting modern apprenticeship cooperation with local catering enterprises. Renowned chefs are invited to give lessons to students from their first semester. 

"After a series of learning, many students have been granted an offer from enterprises long before their graduation," said the college principal. The college-enterprise cooperation can shorten students' run-in period with the enterprises and increased their awareness of the enterprises and popularity, the college principal added.

Presently, Zhongshan has trained more than 450 "Cantonese Cuisine Chefs" since the beginning of the program, said an official representative of the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
