There is a European-style villa standing on the Yuelai South Road in Shiqi District. It is the location of the Mandala International Art Teaching Studio founded by Lyu Xing, a post-90s overseas returnee who turned down high-paying job offers of famous fashion companies and came back to Zhongshan, her "second hometown", to start her career as the "Headmaster Lyu" to provide study art abroad services.
A few years ago, Lyu was then a student of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. She won recognition of examiners of the UK's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design for her work "Chongqing Stilted Building" and was admitted to CSM, one of the world's top four colleges of fashion design.
During her study in the UK, Lyu became ambitious to provide assistance and study art abroad services to more overseas Chinese students. After nearly two years' preparation, Lyu and her friends finally founded the Mandala studio in Zhongshan, which is engaged in offering professional academic guidance to students applying for distinguished art institutes in the UK and the US.
In the future, she plans to set up branches in Changsha, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen among other cities, hoping to help more students, the post-90s said.
