During the four-day Labor Day holiday, Minzhong of Zhongshan, also known as the "Lingnan Water Town", was popular among tourists for its characteristic country style, rich culture, and splendid festival activities. Major scenic spots within the town received a total of over 24,000 tourists in the holiday.

Various characteristic activities were organized at main local tourist attractions and fruit farms, allowing visitors to experience the unique water town culture and farmyard fun.

Among them, Weifeng Farm, located in Xinlun Village, hosted the 2nd Water Town Fishing Culture Festival. In 4 days' time, the farm received up to 15,000 tourists, said the farm manager.

"Since last year, Minzhong Town has been focusing on two strategies, which include 'protecting traditional ecological resources of the water town' and 'comprehensively upgrading the urban quality', in an effort to develop new engine for rapid tourism development and to better integrate into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," said a representative of a Minzhong-based tourism agency. He added that the township government has encouraged communities and tourism companies to build the "Eco-agricultural Tourism" brand, advance modern agriculture and rural tourism, and fully display Minzhong's original rural landscapes and lifestyle relying on such carriers as agricultural education bases, pollution-free aquaculture bases and contiguous fruit-picking areas and basing on traditional featured industries including agriculture, fishery and tourism.
