May 8 this year marks the 72nd "World Red Cross Day". The Zhongshan Branch Red Cross Society of China (ZSRCS) held its "May 8 World Red Cross Day" event themed "Salvation with Love". A meeting on the amended Regulations of the Guangdong Red Cross Society was also part of the agenda.

Around 150 people, including Yuan Yongkang, Deputy Mayor and President of ZSRCS, attended the event, joined by representatives of the governing organizations of the Red Cross Society (RCS), caring enterprises, grassroots RCS units, and volunteers.

At Wednesday's meeting, Yuan Yongkang granted the China Red Cross Philanthropy Medal and the China Red Cross Dedication Medal to 12 outstanding individuals and organizations. Among the deserving recipients were Chen Bohe and Perfect (China) Co Ltd.

Lu Jiahui and Huang Quanbiao, two of the 2nd Zhongshan "Top 10 Red Cross Volunteers", shared their experiences in volunteering. 

Guan Aixian, Minister of the Social Welfare Department of Guangdong Red Cross Society, made an authoritative interpretation of the amended Regulations of the Guangdong Red Cross Society.

It is reported that Zhongshan has launched the Red Cross Love Month serial activities. During this month, all city-level and town-level Red Cross Societies will carry out a variety of publicity and education activities in communities to commemorate the "World Red Cross Day".
