May 12 marks the 108th International Nurses Day. On the afternoon of May 10, activities were held in Zhongshan to celebrate the International Nurses Day. A total of 54 nurses, with 30 years of experience, from 22 medical care and health institutions were awarded and praised for their efforts. Moreover, a dedicated campaign to promote nursing technology at the grass root was launched.

It is said that as of 2018, there are a total of 13,048 registered nurses in Zhongshan, up by 13% over 2016, with a growth rate no lower than 8.5% during recent years. At the end of 2018, the number of nurses per 1,000 population hit 3.52.
