The Information Office of the Guangdong People's Government held a press conference on May 13 to communicate their preparations for the First Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Media Summit.
The media summit will be held on May 19 in Guangzhou. More than 300 guests and representatives will be present in the event. They include heads of central government departments, representatives of organizations in Hong Kong and Macao, government officials from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and media representatives at the central level and also from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as 8 provinces in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region.
The Summit, which will last for one day, will include an opening ceremony, a theme forum, parallel sub-forums and other activities. Attendees will give keynote speeches, and have in-depth discussions on "Innovative Integration of the GBA Development with the Media", "GBA Development and Humanistic Spirit", "GBA Development and the Belt and Road Initiative", among others. They will analyze opportunities and challenges for the GBA media's transformation and development, discuss how to realize innovative integration of the media in a new era, and identify the goals the media should set and actions it needs to take to enable the GBA become a world-class bay.
It is reported that the sponsors will organize the media to conduct a large theme interview called "A Trip to the Greater Bay Area" from May 20 to May 22. Zhongshan is one of the selected cities for the trip.
