The three BRT stations along Kanghua Road had started to take shape recently since groundbreaking in March.
They are three 5-meter central island platforms which will be basically completed in July, tested in August, and then put into trial operation before National Day this year.
It is reported that the BRT loop line will be 25.6 kilometers long, with a total investment of 291 million yuan. It involves Dongming North Road, Minke West Road, Qifeng Road, Cuisha Road, Cuijing Avenue, Changjiang Road, Kanghua Road, and Qiwan Avenue.
The project includes two parts. The first part is to build 21 BRT stations, with an area for each ranging from 500 to 1,400 meters. The second is to build dedicated bus lanes based on existing roads. The entire construction will last for 198 days.
According to current information, the BRT loop line consists of 1 main route and 13 sub-routes. It will form a route network with the east-west BRT system (phase one) that has 1 main route and 7 sub-routes by going through Torch Development Zone, Shiqi District, East District, West District, South District, Gangkou Town, Shaxi Town and Dachong Town. The Zhongshan BRT network will cover most places with high visitor flow, such as hospitals, schools, residential communities, business centers, administrative centers, traffic hubs and parks.
