"By scanning the QR code, you will find where the vegetables are from," said a staff member of Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce at Sanxi Market in East District, which is currently advancing the meat and vegetable circulation and traceability system. The system, as of its completion, will help citizens trace the origins of all types of meats and vegetables through code scanning.

According to the ZSBOC, more than 60 meat and vegetable traceability sites are operational, and the other 60 sites have been completed. In addition, the city plans to build another 456 circulation traceability sites, which will cover farmers' markets, supermarkets, catering companies, school canteens and hospital canteens among others.
