A theme open day event was held on the afternoon of May 19 by Zhongshan Public Security Bureau at the Zhongshan Expo Center to mark the anti-triad operation. Over 2,000 citizens visited the exhibition of the anti-triad operation achievements .

The up-to-date police equipment with high technology content were displayed in the Police Equipment Area, while some generally off-the-record programs, such as "drug searching police dog" and "explosive-handling robot" were showcased at the activity. Citizens can not only touch real guns but also took a tour in the special police vehicles and the "Sunshine House", an anti-drug education base for teenagers during the activity.

In the Convenient Service Area, various types of police officers, including criminal police, anti-drug police and traffic police, taught citizens some safety knowledge and answered their questions. In the Intelligent Public Security Area, citizens were also given opportunities to experience new policing technologies.

Some citizens were awarded a prize during the activity for their clues related to gang crime.

Zheng Zehui, Zhongshan Deputy Mayor and Police Commissioner, says the anti-triad operation needs joint efforts from all circles of the society and the public. In the past over a year, a total of 88 gangland-related crime suspects voluntarily surrendered themselves to the police.
