Bus drivers in Zhongshan have their own festival from this year on. The first "May 20 Caring Bus Drivers Day" activity was held on May 20 in Zhongshan, simultaneously with many cities nationwide, by the Zhongshan Public Transportation Group in response to the initiative proposed by Urban Public Transportation Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society during its annual meeting. 

At the activity, bus drivers and conductors accepted free medical services and others. A total of 30 drivers were commended for their good deeds. They also made a vow to take the initiative in courteous driving and provide better services for citizens.

Presently, Zhongshan Public Transportation Group is operating more than 2,200 buses and 186 bus routes and has employed nearly 3,000 bus drivers. It provides public transportation services for nearly 500,000 citizens per day, with a total operating mileage of exceeding 370,000 km. The public transportation ratio in the main urban area hits 37.05%.

Good persons and good deeds spring up one after another on the samll buses, forming a beautiful landscape of urban civilization. Statistics from Zhongshan Civilization Office show that in recent years, Zhongshan Public Transportation Group contributed 13 of the over 400 "Zhongshan Good People". Among the 39 "China Good People" from Zhongshan, 2 work for the Zhongshan Public Transportation Group.
