Carrying the medical kit, Wang Ronghui, head of the Cuijing Community Health Station in West District, Zhongshan, along with his family doctor team, visited sick residents on May 20 as usual and provided them with treatment and medicine.

They offered visiting medical service for Mr Liu, a 73-year-old retired teacher who lives in the Cuijing Garden, on the day.

In West District, a total of 11 people, like Mr Liu, are offered "home sick-bed" serivce after registering with family doctors. They can also enjoy door-to-door medical service and receive certain subsidies for medical treatment.

Currently, a family doctor team of nearly 50 doctors has been founded in West District, mainly providing service to key residents including seniors over 65, children between 0-6, pregnant and lying-in women, chronic disease patients, disabled persons, high-risk groups and etc in 6 service stations respectively in Cuijing, Houshan, Guangfeng, Guanghao, Longping and Longchang communities.

Over the past three years, West District has seen family doctor service enjoyed by more than 10,000 residents. As of now, up to 31% of the district populations have registered with family doctors, including 71% of the key residents.
