VDE Global Supply Chain Services Co Ltd (VDE GSCS), a joint venture by the German VDE Testing and Certification Institute and China General Certification Center, was officially launched and placed into operation at the Man Sum Information Technology Industrial Park located in Sanjiao Town, Zhongshan on May 21. 

Chen Xudong, Secretary of the Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee, met with the President of VDE.

VDE is a German electronic and electrical equipment testing and certification organization with a long, productive history of more than 120 years, and it has shown great influence and credibility around the world, stated Chen. The establishment of the Zhongshan VDE-CGC Detection Base in Zhongshan will boost a great amount of momentum into Zhongshan's economic and social development, Chen added. 

The Zhongshan Party Chief hopes that both parties will follow the trend of global trade liberalization and fully utilize the advantages that Zhongshan has to offer. Among these many advantages, Zhongshan is an important city node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area where it has been jointly creating a more scientific and more complete quality certification system, providing convenient services that more easily allow companies to expand their international ventures, and driving the innovative development of relevant industries within the Greater Bay Area. These advantages will benefit the whole country well into the future. 

The Zhongshan VDE-CGC Detection Base is the first joint venture of VDE in China, and it will serve as the headquarters, operational center, and settlement center for this joint venture. The detection base will offer testing and certification services in such areas as household appliances, wind energy, lighting, light sources, audio and video, IT, cooling and heating pumps, and intelligent door locks. Furthermore, the detection base will make VDE, GS, CB, CE, and other EU testing and certification services accessible to domestic enterprises in China.
